The second day of the 65th Odisha State Athletics Championship delivered five new meet records at Cuttack today. Koraput runner Surendra Khara created a new meet record in under-14 boys’ 600m event, clocking 1 minute, 25.1 second. Other four new meet marks of the day were created by girls.
Basanti Majhi (U-14 600m), Fulamani Karjee (U-18 400m), Manisha Merel (U-18 long jump) and Pragyan Prasanti Saha (U-20 100m hurdles) broke the previous meet records in respective events. Among other notable achievers of the day, junior international Punga Soren equalled meet record in U-18 boys’ 110m hurdles, while ace para athlete Jayanti Behera along with Roshan Minz, Jamuna Tudu, Budhini Majhi, Manisha Merel and Eva Dang clinched a double each.
